A. BASMATI RICE

"Bas" in native Hindi language means "Aroma" and "Mati" mean "full of" hence the word Basmati - full of aroma. The distinctive quality of this rice is mainly due to the aroma and elongation after cooking.

Rice grains are remarkably long and become even longer after they are cooked. It can be either brown or white with the brown variety having more flavors. When cooked, the rice is lighter and fluffier than the standard white rice, and the grains do not stick together. The aroma and its sweet taste have made basmati rice a true delicacy.
